I know it's a little late for Christmas missives, but I was away from Branded during the holidays and I had totally intended to share this rad 1980 advertisement for the Schwinn Phantom Scrambler…
This came out of an issue of Boy's Life which I've heard tell also featured an even rad-er image of Santa on a Tron light cycle. Now that I want to see! Anyway, a belated Merry BMX-Mas everyone… Category:General Nostalgia

- This strongly resembles a Jack Davis- drawn ad for Cadet bike speedometers that ran in Archie comics circa 1961. Not that the idea of Santa promoting bike-related items as Christmas gifts is a unique one or anything. And admittedly, there's no evidence that Cadet's Santa had any capacity to recognize "good thrash" by means of a visual inspection. He only possessed the means to measure velocity.
